What joining takes

1. Work where we're open

   You can sign up from anywhere, and you finish setting up once we open your trade in a ZIP code you work in. The signup form shows where we're open.

2. Payouts through Stripe

   Customers pay through the app, and Stripe, our payment processor, pays you out. You set up a Stripe account for that.

3. Insurance questions

   A few questions about your business, like whether you have employees or use a vehicle for the work. Where the law or our own rules call for insurance, you upload the certificate, and we check it before you can bid.

   • A tree service business carries general liability of at least $1,000,000 each occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate.
   • A tree service business with employees carries workers' comp with employer's liability of at least $500,000 each accident, $500,000 disease each employee and $1,000,000 disease policy limit, or files DWC Form-005 as a Texas non-subscriber.

4. A $50 signup fee and a background check

   The fee is $50, plus any tax, paid before your background check. It isn't refunded if the check doesn't pass. An invitation or referral code waives it. The check is renewed each year, and a renewal costs nothing once we've kept $50 in Service Fees from you over the year before it.

5. A Service Fee on jobs you're paid for

   8.25% of your price plus $5.30, plus any tax on it, taken from the customer's payment before it reaches you. Nothing on a bid that isn't accepted, and no lead fees.
